Lesson Isaiah 50:4-10
4 The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the
learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is
weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as
the learned. 5 The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not
rebellious, neither turned away back. 6 I gave my back to the smiters,
and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from
shame and spitting. 7 For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I
not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know
that I shall not be ashamed. 8 He is near that justifieth me; who will
contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him
come near to me. 9 Behold, the Lord God will help me; who is he that
shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth
shall eat them up. 10 Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that
obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no
light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

Lesson 2 Corinthians 12:1-12
1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory.
I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. 2 I knew a man in
Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or
whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught
up to the third heaven. 3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body,
or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) 4 How that he was
caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not
lawful for a man to utter. 5 Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself
I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. 6 For though I would desire
to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I
forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to
be, or that he heareth of me. 7 And lest I should be exalted above
measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me
a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should
be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice,
that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is
sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power
of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for
Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 11 I am become a
fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been
commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles,
though I be nothing. 12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among
you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

Lesson Isaiah 30:8-21
8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and
note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and
ever: 9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that
will not hear the law of the Lord: 10 Which say to the seers, See not;
and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us
smooth things, prophesy deceits: 11 Get you out of the way, turn aside
out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this
word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon: 13
Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall,
swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an
instant. 14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potter's vessel
that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be
found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to
take water withal out of the pit. 15 For thus saith the Lord God, the
Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in
quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. 16
But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee:
and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you
be swift. 17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke
of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a
mountain, and as an ensign on an hill. 18 And therefore will the Lord
wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be
exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of
judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. 19 For the people
shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be
very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it,
he will answer thee. 20 And though the Lord give you the bread of
adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be
removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the
way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to
the left.

Lesson Mark 4:26-34
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if
a man should cast seed into the ground; 27 And should sleep, and rise
night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not
how. 28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade,
then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29 But when the fruit
is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the
harvest is come. 30 And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of
God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? 31 It is like a grain
of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all
the seeds that be in the earth: 32 But when it is sown, it groweth up,
and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so
that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it. 33 And with
many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to
hear it. 34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they
were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.

Lesson Ecclesiastes
11:1-6
1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt
find it after many days. 2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight;
for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. 3 If the clouds
be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree
fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree
falleth, there it shall be. 4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow;
and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap. 5 As thou knowest not
what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of
her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who
maketh all. 6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold
not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this
or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.

Lesson John 4:31-38
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him,
saying, Master, eat. 32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that
ye know not of. 33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any
man brought him ought to eat? 34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do
the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 35 Say not ye,
There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto
you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white
already to harvest. 36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and
gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that
reapeth may rejoice together. 37 And herein is that saying true, One
soweth, and another reapeth. 38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye
bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their
labours.

Lesson Daniel 3:1-26
1 Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold,
whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits:
he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. 2 Then
Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the
governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the
counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come
to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
3 Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the
treasurers, and counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the
provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that
Nebuchadnezzar had set up. 4 Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is
commanded, O people, nations, and languages, 5 That at what time ye hear
the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and
all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that
Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: 6 And whoso falleth not down and
worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning
fiery furnace. 7 Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the
sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of
music, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and
worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. 8
Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the
Jews. 9 They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for
ever. 10 Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall
hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and
dulcimer, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden
image: 11 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be
cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. 12 There are certain
Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon,
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded
thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou
hast set up. 13 Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to
bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men
before the king. 14 Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true,
O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship
the golden image which I have set up? 15 Now if ye be ready that at what
time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery,
and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the image
which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the
same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God
that shall deliver you out of my hands? 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not
careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we
serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will
deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto
thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden
image which thou hast set up. 19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury,
and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the
furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. 20 And he
commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
21 Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their
hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the
burning fiery furnace. 22 Therefore because the king's commandment was
urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those
men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. 23 And these three
men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of
the burning fiery furnace. 24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied,
and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not
we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and
said unto the king, True, O king. 25 He answered and said, Lo, I see
four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt;
and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. 26 Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and
spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the
most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the
midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as
doves. 17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the
councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18 And ye shall
be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony
against them and the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, take no
thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that
same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the
Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21 And the brother shall
deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the
children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put
to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he
that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23 But when they persecute you
in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall
not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be
come.
40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he
that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. 41 He that receiveth a
prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and
he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall
receive a righteous man's reward. 42 And whosoever shall give to drink
unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a
disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Lesson Genesis 7:1,7-10, 17-23
1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all
thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this
generation.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife,
and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the
flood. 8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of
fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth, 9 There went in
two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had
commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters
of the flood were upon the earth.
17 And the flood was forty days upon the earth;
and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above
the earth. 18 And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon
the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. 19 And the
waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills,
that were under the whole heaven, were covered. 20 Fifteen cubits upward
did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh
died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of
beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and
every man: 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that
was in the dry land, died. 23 And every living substance was destroyed
which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the
creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed
from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with
him in the ark.

24 And from thence he arose, and went into the
borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no

young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at
his feet: 26 The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she
besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. 27
But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not
meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. 28 And
she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table
eat of the children's crumbs. 29 And he said unto her, For this saying
go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter. 30 And when she was
come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter laid
upon the bed. 31 And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon,
he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of
Decapolis. 32 And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an
impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
33 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into
his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; 34 And looking up to
heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. 35
And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was
loosed, and he spake plain. 36 And he charged them that they should tell
no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they
published it; 37 And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath
done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to
speak.

Lesson Amos 5:14-24
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live:
and so the Lord, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:
it may be that the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant
of Joseph. 16 Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith
thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the
highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning,
and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing. 17 And in all
vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the
Lord. 18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it
for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light. 19 As if a man
did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and
leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. 20 Shall not the day
of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no
brightness in it? 21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not
smell in your solemn assemblies. 22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings
and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard
the peace offerings of your fat beasts. 23 Take thou away from me the
noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. 24 But
let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty
stream.

Lesson Galatians 3:19
19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added
because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise
was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 20
Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. 21 Is the law
then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a
law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have
been by the law. 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that
the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that
believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up
unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the law
was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified
by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a
schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ
Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put
on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ
Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs
according to the promise.

Lesson Genesis 8:6
6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days,
that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: 7 And he sent
forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried
up from off the earth. 8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if
the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; 9 But the dove
found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into
the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put
forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove
out of the ark; 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo,
in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters
were abated from off the earth. 12 And he stayed yet other seven days;
and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. 13
And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first
month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the
earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and,
behold, the face of the ground was dry. 14 And in the second month, on
the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. 15 And
God spake unto Noah, saying, 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife,
and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee. 17 Bring forth with thee
every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of
cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that
they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply
upon the earth. 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and
his sons' wives with him: 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and
every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds,
went forth out of the ark. 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord;
and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered
burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour;
and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any
more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his
youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have
done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and
heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Lesson Mark 8:11-26
11 And the Pharisees came forth, and began to
question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him. 12
And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation
seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given
unto this generation. 13 And he left them, and entering into the ship
again departed to the other side. 14 Now the disciples had forgotten to
take bread, neither had they in the ship with them more than one loaf.
15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. 16 And they reasoned among
themselves, saying, It is because we have no bread. 17 And when Jesus
knew it, he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread?
perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet
hardened? 18 Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and
do ye not remember? 19 When I brake the five loaves among five thousand,
how many baskets full of fragments took ye up? They say unto him,
Twelve. 20 And when the seven among four thousand, how many baskets full
of fragments took ye up? And they said, Seven. 21 And he said unto them,
How is it that ye do not understand? 22 And he cometh to Bethsaida; and
they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him. 23 And
he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when
he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he
saw ought. 24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
25 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look
up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly. 26 And he sent him

1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and
trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations,
to whom the house of Israel came! 2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and
from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of the
Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater
than your border? 3 Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the
seat of violence to come near; 4 That lie upon beds of ivory, and
stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the
flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; 5 That chant to the
sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of music, like
David; 6 That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief
ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph. 7
Therefore now shall they go captive with the first that go captive, and
the banquet of them that stretched themselves shall be removed. 8 The

1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a
child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But
is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of
the world: 4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth
his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were
under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because
ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts,
crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son;
and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. 8 Howbeit then, when
ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. 9
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how
turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire
again to be in bondage? 10 Ye observe days, and months, and times, and
years. 11 I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in
vain.

8 And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with
him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with
your seed after you; 10 And with every living creature that is with you,
of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you;
from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. 11 And I
will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off
any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a
flood to destroy the earth. 12 And God said, This is the token of the
covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that
is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I do set my bow in the cloud,
and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14
And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the
bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15 And I will remember my covenant,
which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and
the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the
bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember

that is upon the earth.

Lesson Mark 8:27. 9:1
27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into
the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples,
saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? 28 And they answered, John
the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth
and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 30 And he charged them that
they should tell no man of him. 31 And he began to teach them, that the
Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and
of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days
rise again. 32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and
began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his
disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou
savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also,
he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his
life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and
the gospel's, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man,
if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what
shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall
be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh
in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of
death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Lesson Amos 8:4-12
4 Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy,
even to make the poor of the land to fail, 5 Saying, When will the new
moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set
forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and
falsifying the balances by deceit? 6 That we may buy the poor for
silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of
the wheat? 7 The Lord hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I
will never forget any of their works. 8 Shall not the land tremble for
this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up
wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood
of Egypt. 9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God,
that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the
earth in the clear day: 10 And I will turn your feasts into mourning,
and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon
all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the
mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day. 11 Behold,
the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the
land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the
words of the Lord: 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from
the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word
of the Lord, and shall not find it.

Lesson Galatians 4:12-20
12 Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am
as ye are: ye have not injured me at all. 13 Ye know how through
infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first. 14
And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected;
but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus. 15 Where is
then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had
been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given
them to me. 16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the
truth? 17 They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would
exclude you, that ye might affect them. 18 But it is good to be
zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am
present with you. 19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth
again until Christ be formed in you, 20 I desire to be present with you
now, and to change my voice; for I stand in doubt of you.

Lesson Genesis 11:1-9
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and
of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east,
that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3
And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them
throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top
may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered
abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see
the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the
Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language;
and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them,
which they have imagined to do. 7 Go to, let us go down, and there
confound their language, that they may not understand one another's
speech. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of
all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9 Therefore is the
name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the
language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them
abroad upon the face of all the earth.

Lesson Mark 9:2-13
2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him
Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain
apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. 3 And his
raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on
earth can white them. 4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses:
and they were talking with Jesus. 5 And Peter answered and said to
Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three
tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 6 For
he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. 7 And there was a
cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying,
This is my beloved Son: hear him. 8 And suddenly, when they had looked
round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
9 And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they
should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were
risen from the dead. 10 And they kept that saying with themselves,
questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
11 And they asked him, saying, Why say the scribes that Elias must first
come? 12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and
restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he
must suffer many things, and be set at nought. 13 But I say unto you,
That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they
listed, as it is written of him.

Lesson Amos 9:1-10
1 I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he
said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut
them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the
sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth
of them shall not be delivered. 2 Though they dig into hell, thence
shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I
bring them down: 3 And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel,
I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my
sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and
he shall bite them: 4 And though they go into captivity before their
enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I
will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good. 5 And the Lord
God of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all
that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a
flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. 6 It is he that
buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the
earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out
upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name. 7 Are ye not as
children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the
Lord. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? and the
Philistines from Caphtor, and the Syrians from Kir? 8 Behold, the eyes
of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from
off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the
house of Jacob, saith the Lord. 9 For, lo, I will command, and I will
sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as corn is sifted in a
sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth. 10 All the
sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall
not overtake nor prevent us.

Lesson Galatians 4:21
21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law,
do ye not hear the law? 22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons,
the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of
the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by
promise. 24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two
covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage,
which is Agar. 25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth
to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. 26 But
Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For
it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and
cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children
than she which hath an husband. 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are
the children of promise. 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh
persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30
Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her
son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the
freewoman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman,
but of the free.

Lesson Genesis 11:27. 12:8
27 Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah
begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot. 28 And Haran died
before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the
Chaldees. 29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's
wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of
Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. 30 But Sarai was
barren; she had no child. 31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the
son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son
Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to
go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died
in Haran.
1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out
of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto
a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation,
and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a
blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that
curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4
So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him; and Lot went with
him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of
Haran. 5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and
all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had
gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and
into the land of Canaan they came. 6 And Abram passed through the land
unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was
then in the land. 7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy
seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord,
who appeared unto him. 8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on
the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and
Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the Lord, and called
upon the name of the Lord.

Lesson Mark 9:14-29
14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a
great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them. 15
And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly
amazed, and running to him saluted him. 16 And he asked the scribes,
What question ye with them? 17 And one of the multitude answered and
said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and
gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples
that they should cast him out; and they could not. 19 He answereth him,
and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how
long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 20 And they brought him unto
him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell
on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 21 And he asked his father, How
long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22 And
ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy
him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible
to him that believeth. 24 And straightway the father of the child cried
out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the
foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee,
come out of him, and enter no more into him. 26 And the spirit cried,
and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch
that many said, He is dead. 27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and
lifted him up; and he arose. 28 And when he was come into the house, his
disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he
said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and
fasting.

Lesson Amos 7:10
10 Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to
Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the
midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his
words. 11 For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and
Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land. 12 Also
Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of
Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there: 13 But prophesy not
again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the
king's court. 14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no
prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a
gatherer of sycomore fruit: 15 And the Lord took me as I followed the
flock, and the Lord said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel. 16
Now therefore hear thou the word of the Lord: Thou sayest, Prophesy not
against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac. 17
Therefore thus saith the Lord; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city,
and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land
shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and
Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.

Lesson Galatians 5:1-12
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith
Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of
bondage. 2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised,
Christ shall profit you nothing. 3 For I testify again to every man that
is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. 4 Christ is
become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law;
ye are fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope
of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision
availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. 9 A little leaven
leaveneth the whole lump. 10 I have confidence in you through the Lord,
that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall
bear his judgment, whosoever he be. 11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach
circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of
the cross ceased. 12 I would they were even cut off which trouble
you.

Lesson Genesis 13:2, 5-18
2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver,
and in gold.
5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had
flocks, and herds, and tents. 6 And the land was not able to bear them,
that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that
they could not dwell together. 7 And there was a strife between the
herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the
Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 8 And Abram said
unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and
between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. 9 Is not the
whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou
wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart
to the right hand, then I will go to the left. 10 And Lot lifted up his
eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every
where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden
of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. 11 Then
Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they
separated themselves the one from the other. 12 Abram dwelled in the
land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched
his tent toward Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners
before the Lord exceedingly. 14 And the Lord said unto Abram, after that
Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the
place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and
westward: 15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it,
and to thy seed for ever. 16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the
earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy
seed also be numbered. 17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of
it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. 18 Then Abram
removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in
Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.

Lesson Mark 9:30-37
30 And they departed thence, and passed through
Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it. 31 For he taught
his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the
hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he
shall rise the third day. 32 But they understood not that saying, and
were afraid to ask him. 33 And he came to Capernaum: and being in the
house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by
the way? 34 But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed
among themselves, who should be the greatest. 35 And he sat down, and
called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first,
the same shall be last of all, and servant of all. 36 And he took a
child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in
his arms, he said unto them, 37 Whosoever shall receive one of such
children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me,
receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

Lesson Hosea 4:1-2, 6-10
1 Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of
Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the
land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the
land. 2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and
committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
because thou has rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou
shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God,
I will also forget thy children. 7 As they were increased, so they
sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame. 8
They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their
iniquity. 9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will
punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. 10 For they
shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall
not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the Lord.

Lesson Galatians 5:13
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto
liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love
serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in
this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and
devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of
the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that
ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the
Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are
manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations,
wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness,
revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have
also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness,
temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's
have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in
the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of
vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
